Adventurous Tale Of Allen -The Rider In Himalayan Terrain With Thrillophilia!
Allen comes from the lands of Kerala, or more often known as 'God's own country'. This young lad from Kerala gives credit for his love for travelling and adventure to his father, who used to take on long bike rides on his bullet. Having him as his role model, Allen never held back his passion for travelling, not even for work commitments. This Gurgaon based travel enthusiast and adventure seeker has travelled to different parts of India, including the beautiful states of South India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. And when he desired to travel to the majestic mountains in Northern India he decided to travel with Thrillophilia.
Kartik has travelled to the beautiful countries of Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Germany. This time he decided that he needed to conquer the world’s highest motorable passage on his bike.
He realised that he loves biking and photography so on this solo trip it was time to enjoy both of his passions.
Allen believes that solo trips are a great way of learning about your own strengths and weaknesses. Added benefit is of meeting strangers who in time may turn into friends.
With the hope of a wonderful trip Alan took on to His journey of Ladakh.
Ready- Set- Go!
Alan started his journey to Ladakh on his favourite bike, the Royal Enfield beast.
After reaching Manali he met with his fellow riders and then they set off to continue the journey to Jispa. Travelling on the twisted roads of the foothills of Himalayas he was greeted with some enchanting surroundings and scenic views. The riders also passed through the popular Rohtang Pass which was a gorgeous sight with snow covered mountain peaks. At this moment Alan knew that he was right in his decision to choose Ladakh as his next destination.
Travelling to Jispa was not an easy task and Alan with his group had to face all the odds. The weather was not on their side and due to rains, driving on the dangerous curvy roads, they had to be extra careful. The group after reaching Jispa decided to camp there and shared memorable experiences with each other.
The next day the riders had to cover 340 km on bikes in the mountains to reach Leh . On the way they stopped at various tourist destinations such as Darcha, Baralacha La and Lachung La. While crossing the bumpy roads at the Gata loops the riders felt a rush of adrenaline and they loved the off roading experiences.

After a bumpy ride the bikers reached Pang, where they enjoyed Maggie at a small village. Along with this they enjoyed butter tea, and some of the bikers decided to take a rest. From there the group continued their journey to the highest motorable pass in the world, Tanglang La ! The roads were in much better condition on this ride and therefore the bikers geared up at a speed of 100kmph during this time.
The Wonderland - Leh
At Leh, Allen found a lot of things to explore and enjoy. The place was as surreal and exotic as he had imagined, and much more. A small calming vibe engulfed the city of Leh and the Tricolour fluttering in the foreground filled him with a sense of nationalism. He could not help but salute the bravery and courage of the soldiers who stood strong for the Nation even in the most harsh conditions.
From there, the group continued their journey to Pathar Sahib Gurudwara. The atmosphere there was filled with a sense of calm and peace. They could feel the tranquillity in the air and at this point they left for the Magnetic Hill.
The next morning they woke up thrilled to be going to the mighty Khardung La, a journey that Allen was so eagerly waiting for. On their way, the riders encountered rain and this created a little difficulty for them. Despite the weather conditions, the bikers enjoyed the ride and it gave them an adrenaline rush to drive their beasts in such dangerous conditions.
Allen did not want to let go of his bike, but to explore the Himalayas the group had to walk on foot. They travelled to the Nubra Valley after, and on their way they crossed Khalsar, Diskit Monastery, and the white desert region of Hunder. The cold and calm sand dunes welcomed the riders and offered them the opportunity to take a ride on the double humped camel. After reaching Nubra, Allen could not get enough of the beautiful sight in front of him. It was like a white sand desert, snuggled safely in between the mighty mountains.

As the group gathered around the bonfire that night, they bonded over shared experiences and enjoyed rum in the frigid weather.
Picture Perfect Pangong
Resting at the night made sure the bikers were re-energised and ready to continue their journey to the beautiful and enchanting Pangong Tso. The ride was equally exhilarating, and the bikers enjoyed cruising through the twisted roads between the mountains.
Braving rough weather and the dangerous curves, the bikers reached the Pangong Tso Lake. Even though they were tired from the bike ride, when they reached the lake they were left in awe of what was in front of them. Allen can never forget the mesmerising landscapes and the beautiful shades of the place. The lake appeared to be changing colours as it reflected the hues of the sky in its crystal clear water.
After they left Pangong Tso, the riders travelled to the Upshi Village, through Chang La. Allen explored the small village on his own and he instantly fell in love with the calm silent surroundings.
While riding back to Jispa, Allen was overcome with nostalgia of his favourite moments from the trip. He did not want the trip to end anytime soon and more than that he did not want to say goodbye to the friends he had made.
As he signed off from the Land of High Passes, the idea that it was truly the Heaven on Earth only reaffirmed itself. With unmatchable memories from the Himalayas, the adventure junkie now aims to check Everest Base Camp Trek, Fuji Trek and activities like bungee jumping and deep-sea diving on his bucket list.
As he bid farewell to the mighty lands of Ladakh, he realised that it was right to be known as the Paradise on Earth. With its majestic mountain peaks and its soft shades of green and blue, the Himalayas are a beautiful mystery that every traveller must explore at least once.
