From riding historic mountain railways and cruising narrow UNESCO-protected fjords to steering a husky team across Arctic snowfields, Sangeetha experienced a rich solo holiday filled with personal discovery, safety, and breathtaking natural wonders.

Organising a seamless multi-city winter itinerary through Scandinavia requires precise timing and reliable transportation links. Our destination expert Kunal Tomar structured a versatile, seven-day route that seamlessly combined scenic rail journeys, fjord cruises, domestic mountain flights, and guided Arctic excursions. By arranging private airport transfers, well-located central stays, and expertly guided group tours, Kunal and the Thrillophilia team ensured Sangeetha felt entirely secure and comfortable. She was looking for a well-supported trip as a solo female traveller from the moment she landed in Oslo to her final flight home, and we delivered just the same.

Delighted by the well-organized logistics and memorable Arctic activities, Sangeetha captured wonderful photographs of her northern adventure:

"The structured arrangements and expert local guidance made exploring Norway’s fjords and Arctic landscapes as a solo traveler an incredible, stress-free, and deeply empowering experience."

Historic Cities, Fjord Cruises, and Scenic Alpine Rail Rides

The winter journey began as Sangeetha landed in Oslo, where a private driver greeted her at the airport and escorted her to her central hotel for a comfortable first night. Day two featured the famous "Norway in a Nutshell" self-guided tour from Oslo to Bergen. Journeying high into the snowy mountains aboard the famous Flåm Railway to Myrdal, she marveled at steep forested peaks and frozen waterfalls before boarding a peaceful fjord cruise through the narrow Aurlandsfjord and UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord. Continuing past Gudvangen and Voss, she arrived smoothly in the vibrant coastal city of Bergen by evening.

On the third morning, Sangeetha joined a guided walking tour through Bergen’s historic alleys and vibrant neighborhoods. Starting at the Rosenkrantz Tower within the Bergenhus Fortress, she explored over five hundred years of Hanseatic merchant history among the wooden buildings of Bryggen. Her guide led her through quiet 18th-century residential quarters, sharing fascinating details about local culture, traditional architecture, and Norwegian food scenes before concluding near the Fløibanen funicular station, leaving her with wonderful ideas for a relaxed, independent afternoon. She clicked pictures of the places, or herself, and selfies as well to record everything she witnessed. It was indeed a highly rewarding experience for her, and we made sure she enjoyed it thoroughly.

Arctic Flights, Northern Lights Chases, and Husky Sledding

Day four marked an exciting transition as Sangeetha boarded a morning flight from Bergen to Tromsø, stepping directly into the snowy heart of Arctic Norway. On the fifth evening, she set off on a guided Northern Lights bus chase, traveling out of the city into remote dark-sky locations with minimal light pollution and clear cloud cover. While waiting for the dancing green lights to flicker across the night sky, she stayed warm beside her group with hot drinks and biscuits while expert local guides shared astronomical facts and captured professional photographs of the experience.

The sixth day delivered one of the trip's biggest highlights with an active dog sledding adventure in Breivikeidet. After suiting up in warm thermal suits, boots, and mittens at the Arctic camp, Sangeetha met her team of huskies, received clear safety training, and took the reins to drive her own sled across pristine snow-covered landscapes. On the seventh morning, following a week filled with alpine trains, coastal walks, auroras, and sledding thrills, a private transfer brought Sangeetha to the airport for her departure flight, concluding an extraordinary and deeply fulfilling solo adventure.
