Frengina’s Ultimate Andaman Adventure with Thrillophilia
We booked a 6-day couples’ trip across the Andaman Islands with Thrillophilia, and it turned into an unforgettable adventure. Here are some highlights from our amazing trip that you can easily include in your next Andaman journey!
The Serene Neil Island
Neil Island gave us exactly what we needed- a peaceful escape from the usual tourist crowds. We started our day at Kalapathar Beach, where the black rocks sharply contrasted against the turquoise waters. Holding hands, we walked along the quiet shore, feeling the cool sand beneath our feet. Every so often, we dipped our toes into the gentle waves, savouring the peaceful moments. A shaded spot by the beach caught our eye, and we decided to stop and sip on some fresh coconut water from a local vendor.
Later, we wandered through a nearby village, where the tempting aroma of seafood sizzling on a grill filled the air. We followed the delicious scent and discovered a cosy café. Without hesitation, we ordered Andaman-style seafood curry with rice, and it blew us away- rich flavours that exceeded every expectation.
As the sun started to set, we returned to Sitapur Beach. The sky turned shades of orange and pink, and we stood there, captivated by the breathtaking view. The beauty of the moment was undeniable, and we soaked it all in together.
Steps to Adventures
In Port Blair, we kicked off the day with an early morning adventure. The night before, we had spotted a lighthouse in the distance and decided we needed to climb it for the sunrise. So, at dawn, we made our way to the quieter side of Corbyn Cove Beach, excited to take on the challenge.
We started the climb full of energy, but the steep, winding steps soon began to test us. We laughed at ourselves but kept pushing each other to keep going. When we finally reached the top, the reward was more than worth it. The view was stunning- soft pink and gold hues stretched across the horizon as the sun rose. Standing there, we both felt a rush of pride and accomplishment. The peacefulness of the moment left us in awe.
After the sunrise, we returned to the beach. We grabbed some fresh coconut water and took a slow, relaxing walk along the shore. The sound of gentle waves and swaying palm trees made for the perfect tranquil morning.
In the afternoon, we visited the iconic Cellular Jail, where the atmosphere shifted. Walking through its narrow corridors, we felt the heavy weight of history.
Later, we stayed for the Light and Sound Show, which exceeded all of our expectations. Lights danced across the massive walls, and the narrator’s booming voice filled the air. We left in awe, with the glow of the show still fresh in our minds.
Adventures Across the Sea
Havelock Island offered endless opportunities for adventure, and we couldn’t wait to dive in!
One of our first activities was kayaking through the island’s peaceful mangroves. At first, we struggled to sync our paddling, and our kayak wobbled hilariously. But soon, we found our rhythm and glided smoothly through the calm waters, surrounded by the sounds of nature. Laughter filled the air as we joked about our newfound kayaking “skills,” savouring the ‘perfectness’ of the moment.
Another memorable experience was the thrilling speedboat ride. The boat roared to life, and with the wind whipping around us and sprays of salty water hitting our faces, we couldn’t contain our excitement. Clinging to each other as the boat bounced across the waves, we felt an incredible rush of adrenaline. The sheer speed and power of the ocean left us breathless, filling us with pure exhilaration and joy.
However, the true highlight of Havelock Island was snorkelling in its crystal-clear waters. As we dove beneath the surface, an entirely new world opened up before us. Vibrant coral reefs stretched out as far as the eye could see, and schools of colourful fish darted all around. The underwater world felt magical- so full of life and beauty. At one point, he spotted a school of fish moving in perfect harmony and reached out to squeeze my hand, sharing the wonder of the moment.
Later, as we sat together over dinner, we couldn’t stop talking about everything we had experienced.
From the laughs on our kayak to the adrenaline of the speedboat and the awe of snorkelling, every moment felt like a new discovery. These adventures brought us closer, not just to the island but to each other, making Havelock Island a place we would never forget.
