A Heartfelt Journey to Kashmir: A Thrillophilia Review Debosmita Bhattacharjee
Starting a holiday for a family of seven takes more coordination than anyone admits, but for the Bhattacharjee and Mukherjee families it quickly turned into a gentle and heartfelt journey. Debosmita took charge of the planning with quiet confidence, while the rest of the family added their own mix of opinions, suggestions and worries, especially the seniors who were both excited and cautious about the trip.
When Kashmir became the final choice, someone joked, “If the mountains do not calm us, nothing will.”
Another replied, “As long as we all reach in one piece, we will be grateful.”
The laughter that followed set the tone for the days ahead. Booking through Thrillophilia felt comfortable because the support was steady, the itinerary was clear and the planning felt easy from the start. For a group with seniors and younger adults together, having that sense of assurance mattered the most.
A Gentle Welcome to Srinagar
When we landed in Srinagar, the driver welcomed us with a smile and helped us into the Tavera. The city felt calm. The air carried a slight chill, the trees moved slowly in the wind and the mountains sat quietly in the distance. After checking in at The Stay Villa, we took some time to rest before heading out for sightseeing.
Shyamali looked around and said, “This place is so clean and quiet. It already feels peaceful.”
Ruma added, “We made the right decision to come.”
Our first round of sightseeing included the gardens and local spots of Srinagar. No one was in a hurry. The seniors moved at a comfortable pace. The younger members clicked photos while helping the elders walk through the gardens. The guide made sure we never felt rushed.

The Calm Beauty of Sonmarg
The next morning, the families headed to Sonmarg. The road was smooth, the scenery beautiful and the group full of small conversations. Gargi pointed to the mountains and said, “It looks like someone painted this.”
Shiba Prasad replied, “Nature paints better than any artist.”
Sonmarg felt open and soothing. The cold breeze touched our faces gently. The rivers moved steadily beside the roads. The seniors found a quiet spot to sit while the younger ones wandered around taking pictures. We enjoyed tea near a roadside stall and simply watched the mountains. No pressure, no schedule, no rush. Just a calm shared moment.

A Pleasant Shift to Pahalgam
The transfer to Pahalgam the next day gave us time to talk, joke and enjoy the views. The plan included Pahalgam sightseeing after the transfer . Pahalgam looked like a peaceful valley wrapped in greenery. The seniors loved the open views while the younger ones enjoyed the long stretches perfect for walking.
We visited the main spots together. The atmosphere was cool and fresh. Walking by the river, Ruma said softly, “This feels like a break from everything.”
Nobody disagreed. This was exactly why we came.
After spending time in Pahalgam, we returned to Srinagar for more local sightseeing as planned. The slow pace of the city made it easy for our group to enjoy the surroundings. The houseboat area, the markets and the lakeside walks gave us simple yet pleasant moments.
The driver stayed patient through everything. He helped the seniors get in and out of the vehicle, adjusted the pace as needed and always kept a cheerful expression. Debapriya said, “He treats us like family,” and it felt true.

A Scenic Experience in Gulmarg and Dhoodhpatri
The day we visited Gulmarg was special. The weather stayed clear and the ground looked wide and open. The seniors sat together enjoying the view while the younger ones walked around. Gondola tickets had to be booked separately as mentioned in the advisory , but the group chose to enjoy the place from below.
The air was cool, the grass fresh and the silence comforting. Someone joked, “We have seen this place in movies. Now it looks better in real life.” Everyone agreed. The place had a natural charm that needed no explanation.
Our visit to Doodhpathri turned out to be one of the calmest experiences of the trip. The open valley, the flowing streams and the quiet surroundings made it perfect for slow walks. The seniors enjoyed sitting near the water while the rest walked ahead to explore. There was no loud noise, no rush and no crowd. It felt like a hidden patch of beauty.
Shyamali said, “This is the place I will remember the most,” and many of us felt the same way.

A Smooth End to a Meaningful Trip
During the entire journey, the Thrillophilia ground team kept checking on us, often calling to ask if everything was fine. Subhajit stayed available for every doubt before and during the trip. The driver stood with us through every day with kindness and patience. For a group with seniors, this support meant more than words can describe.
On the last day, while packing, Debosmita said, “This trip was gentle, calm and perfect for our family.”
Tapan added, “We should come again while my knees still support me.”
Everyone laughed, but the idea did not sound impossible.

We returned home with a feeling of peace. The arrangements were smooth, the places beautiful and the support consistent. It was not just a holiday. It was a shared family memory that will stay with all seven of us for a long time.
