Vani and her sons Turkey Trip review with Thrillophilia!

And there they were, staring at the vast ocean laid out in front of them, thinking about the past and the present, how things were and how things are now. Everything seemed to make sense, all the dots seemed to connect. At that point, they all were tranquil.

Since childhood, Vani's two sons have been very excited about exploring Turkey. They had heard a lot about the place since Vani and her husband frequently visited it. But now that Vani was taking them on a Turkey tour all alone, she needed some aid in arrangements.

To the rescue came Thrillophilia, who had to just arrange the stays, food, and transfers for them, along with planning the activities and sightseeing tours. She already knew a lot about the place, so she had an itinerary in mind. She shared it with thrillophilia, who in turn were happy to curate it into a full-fledged trip.

Thrillophilia was ever-ready to help them out in case of any confusion or query, and they also modified the itinerary to suit the preferences of the family. Vani and her two kids were quite excited about the trip, starting to shop for the vacation from a month ago.

And after all the efforts, who would not want a perfect getaway to the dreamland of Turkey?

The Power-trio
When you are bonded by blood, nothing can separate you.

Even the crowded markets and tourist places of Istanbul.

Lost in the beautiful architectural designs and skilled craftsmanship of the medieval past of Europe, Vani and her sons struggled to stick together. Walking through the crowds and the bustling streets that spoke a different language and led a different life, thrilled them. While one would get stuck admiring the Blue Mosque, one would get busy bargaining about a carpet price in the market. While one was immersed in taking pictures of the places, one was nagging about clicking pictures of themselves.

But, they toured the entire place fighting and laughing, just like a mother-son trip should be. It was their first time travelling in this combination, otherwise, their father would balance out the equations to maintain peace. Without him, everything was much more chaotic, although their mother did a brilliant job managing her two kids in a foreign land. We can't totally blame the boys either- they were way too electrified by the thought that they were in ISTANBUL!!!

The day they went for their Bosphorus River cruise, things were different. They all sat quietly, staring at the mild waves of the Bosphorus Strait, sometimes gazing at the Greek beaches in the distance. They witnessed an unforgettable sunset from the cruise- the whole sky and sea turned orange, then red, and then finally succumbed to the authority of the blue dusk before resigning into black. It was a wonderful experience for the trio- for once, making them calm and spend some time with each other in peace.

Going Indian in Turkey
They had decided to try Indian food in Istanbul for lunch one day, and to their surprise, they found a first-class restaurant that served kadhai chicken and dal makhani with tandoori roti. Their eyes gleamed at the sight of smoking hot comfort food, after which they all devoured every bit of grain on their plates. It was a very fulfilling experience, rubbing their tummies in satisfaction while heading for the Byzantium tour. Their morning was spent exploring the Ottoman relics which they found to be quite interesting. And now, it was time for another adventure through the history of the land.

The Byzantine tour was also a very intriguing experience. Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, all these places nearly knocked the breath out of them with their marvel and charm. Especially the handicrafts of the regions stole their hearts- Vani got around three caret delivered directly to her home in Delhi (she loved the designs so much).

Vani had worn a salwar kameez that day, turning heads wherever she went. She was proud of wearing Indian, she thought, why shouldn't I, I can wear whatever I want why should I have to stand up to social expectations that make no sense?

Her sons were proud of her for pulling it off so gracefully.

To wine and wind
Have you ever imagined flying hundreds of feet above the ground in above the ground during sunrise in Cappadocia?

They didn't.

They did not know what to expect, or how the experience would be. It was the first time, even for Vani, to undertake this activity.

But the moment the balloon started lifting off the land, their hearts started to beat faster and faster. By the time they were up, the sun had already started to peek from the horizon. It was a spectacular experience for them, leaving them awe-struck and with goosebumps till the very end.

After the ride, they went for a much-needed lunch, where they tasted some delicious white wine from the finest wineries of the region. Turkey was treating them well and with much courtesy.

Later, they toured the mesmerising destination of Cappadocia with all its fairy chimneys underground cities and various valleys. It was truly a treat to the heart and soul, this trip.

Things worth remembering
One particular incident that left them all speechless was in Pamukkale Hierapolis. The landscapes of the Cotton Castle stunned them. Its terraces of picturesque blue natural thermal springs amidst white mineral deposits offered an unforgettable sight to behold. And then they went to the ancient Hieriapolis amphitheatre and had a memorable experience exploring the place.

Their trip to Ephesus was also an interesting one too, it gave them a profound glimpse into the Greco-Roman history and life. It was one of the reasons the boys loved this place so much. Since both of them were very interested in learning about the rich history and culture of the place, these tours helped them gain a lot of real-time knowledge which otherwise the books forget to mention.

Their cable car ride, shopping sprees, cruises, and excursions, all proved to be fruitful for both sons. It not only helped them enjoy a relaxing vacation but also taught them a lot of things about the place and its people. They also bought some porcelain crockeries and other souvenirs.

Vani was happy too, she had successfully travelled with her kids and had a great time with them. It helped them bond tightly, and also make some memories that would last a lifetime! What can be more precious than this for a mother, that her kids come and tell them,

Love you Ma.
