Going Above and Beyond - Tejaswini’s Family Trip to Himachal with Thrillophilia

Tejaswini’s family is an ardent lover of travelling.

For the last five to six years, they have made it a target to go to at least one place in a year. So this year in March, they decided to push their limits a bit more and go to a high-altitude place in Himachal Pradesh. Since they had their grandmother with them as well, they needed to ensure that the arrangements were top-notch and that they did not face any extra hassle on the trip.

After they conveyed their concerns to their trip operator, Thrillophilia, the team swiftly got back to them with a foolproof itinerary that would suit their family the best. They provided a plan to Manali, Kasol, Jibhi, and Jalori Pass. It looked perfect to them, and they also cross-checked the ratings and the properties of the stays that were suggested. They were also asked to call their GEO (Guest Experience Officer), Vidhi Gurjar, in case of any emergency.

So, with multiple sets of bags and luggage, they finally set off on their trip to Himachal. They were to reach Delhi first, and from there Thrillophilia would provide transfers. It was their grandmother’s first time visiting Himachal, and she was quite excited. The family was a bit worried about her health, but she always kept saying,

“Kuch nahi hoga, chalo.”

She seemed to have gained back her youth, and she was so happy that they did not make any changes to the plan. She was confident, and that was enough for them. They supported her throughout, never uttering a syllable of discouragement.

And it all paid off at the end.

Glimpses on the way
The first stop was at Manali, and the family simply loved the small yet vibrant town. They went around the town and toured its famous points like the Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Temple, and Old Manali. They did not push the itinerary much and kept it paced out so that they could get some good rest and also spend time with each other as a family.

The next day, they were to head to Kasol for a small retreat, as it is famous for that. But on the way, they were to cross the famous Solang Valley. They knew Grandma would just wait by the side while they tried the adventure sports. However, they saw her putting on the suit. She was going to ski.

Tejaswini supported her completely. It was a very powerful and brave move for a person of her age, but if she wanted to do it, the family was in for it as well. They cheered her for showing such enthusiasm and energy. Tejaswini held her hand initially, and later Grandma had gotten the hang of it.

She was the reason for multiplying their happiness many times over.

We caught a fish!

In Kasol, the family tried their hands at fishing. The camp stay they were in was so well-kept and maintained that they felt fresh after a whole day of trying out paragliding and skiing and then sleeping the night off.

In the morning, after having breakfast, they decided to utilise the time by fishing. The experience of catching fish in the Parvati River was quite electrifying. The rapids were fast and strong, and it was difficult to hold the fishing pole. But nonetheless, they managed to catch two fish in two hours.

Later that day they toured the quaint town of Kasol and explored the cafes there for some Tibetan delicacies.

There, ended the first part of the trip.

Now, the second half begins

The trip to Jibhi and Jalori Pass.

It was an awesome experience, looking at the snow-capped mountains and the coniferous landscapes that lay before them. Their stay in Jibhi was so good, it felt as if they could stay there for an entire lifetime. There was no chaos, no issues, no hubbub. Only the echoes of the mountains and the gurgling of the Tirthan River. They felt so peaceful that even Kasol seemed to be busier in comparison.

On the way to Jalori Pass, they saw the Beas River and the Tirthan River snaking through the valley. It offered a splendid sight. Upon reaching the pass, they went for a short trek to Serolsar Lake.

Tejaswini looked at her grandmother once; she looked more energised than all of them combined. They started their journey to the lake, and amazingly enough, Grandma was second to reach it, Tejaswini being the first. They were walking almost together. Tejaswini assisted her in some areas while Grandma held the camera in some places when Tejaswini climbed. Then Tejaswini would give her a hand and she would slowly and steadily trek up.

They took a serene boat ride on the lake. The family was so happy that they giggled and laughed throughout the ride, sharing jokes and admiring the views every now and then.

It is true, Himachal is a beauty

There are so many reasons to support this statement, some of which were already mentioned in this particular review of Tejaswini’s.

And Thrillophilia had executed this trip to perfection.

Their stays, The Conifer in Manali, the Kovid Camp in Kasol, and Lato Hut in Jibhi, were neat and clean, located just in the right places.

Finally, the driver and guide who took them to all these places were so warm and welcoming that it had started to feel like he was also a part of their group. He took them around several places, showed them mountain peaks, and told them the names of each by pointing in their direction. They heard about his family and his friends, and throughout the way they never stopped talking to him.

They tried various Tibetan and Himachali food items as well, and by the grace of God, whichever restaurant their guide introduced them to worked out pretty well. They tried Aktori and Siddu, and they just loved the authentic preparations of Thukpa and momos there.

Overall, they had a lovely trip, and Vidhi, their GEO, was a constant help. Seeing the attention and care that Thrillophilia treats its customers with, Tejaswini was convinced to take more trips with them in the future.

And for this instance, a big big THANK YOU!!
