A Beautiful Japan Experience: The Sharma Family’s Thrillophilia Review
For Abhiraaj and his parents, Anjali and Saurabh Sharma, Japan had always been a destination that felt a little mysterious. The moment they stepped into Tokyo, that mystery slowly unfolded into excitement. The city felt alive in a way they had never experienced before. The lights, the calm crowds, the thoughtful design, everything worked together to create a rhythm that instantly drew them in.
Their first few days were spent tapping into this rhythm. Exploring the city’s major attractions gave them an understanding of why Tokyo feels so unique. Some moments were loud and colourful, others quiet and poetic. The visit to Tokyo Tower left them admiring the skyline for minutes without saying a word. TeamLab Borderless surprised them with its dreamlike art installations. The Mount Fuji tour added a dramatic shift in pace. Seeing the mountain appear through the clouds felt surreal, and the calm lakes around it made the day feel almost magical. For the Sharmas, this early part of the trip set the tone for everything that followed.

A Journey Through Culture and Nature
Leaving Tokyo behind felt bittersweet, but Kyoto welcomed them with a very different warmth. The pace slowed down, the streets felt older, and every corner seemed to carry its own story. This is where the family found themselves connecting with Japan’s traditions in a deeper way. The temples and gardens allowed them to unwind and appreciate the country’s soft beauty. The day trip that included Nara brought its own charm. Watching deer wander freely made Abhiraaj incredibly happy, and his laughter became one of the family’s favourite memories of the trip.

Later, Osaka added a lively contrast. The major attractions there brought the modern energy back into the journey. The city felt bold and full of colour. Their excursion to Amanohashidate became one of those experiences that stays with you for a long time. The peaceful view of the long sandbar stretching into the blue water made the family pause and breathe in the moment.
A Trip Filled with Memories
By the end of the holiday, the Sharmas realised how deeply Japan had grown on them. There were moments of pure beauty, moments of laughter, and moments where the country’s grace made them feel calm in a way they had not expected. The itinerary had a lot in it, and a few things here and there could have been managed better, but the family chose to focus on the big picture. And the big picture was wonderful.

In their own words, they later shared this with the Thrillophilia team:
"Overall a fabulous experience. Thanks for making this trip a memorable one for us. Loved the country, Japan hits you different. Going there again for sure."
This sentiment stayed true for all three of them. Japan opened their eyes to a world that was both peaceful and powerful. It gave them memories that the Sharmas knew they would revisit for years. And as they boarded their flight home, one thing was certain. This was not their last trip to Japan.
