The Perfect Paradise- Sathiskumar’s Review of Bali Trip with Thrillophilia
I thought of no tour operator other than Thrillophilia when we first started our conversation about visiting Bali. I and my partner were simply sipping on hot coffee one lazy Sunday afternoon while scrolling reels. We came across this amazing video where the highlights of Bali were shown, and that was the moment we made up our minds to take a good long vacation.
Winter was just around the corner, and we thought that would be the best time to go for it. So at once, we contacted Thrillophilia through their website as we had already taken a few trips with them in the past. A salesperson named Prithu Yash Mohiley called us, explained the entire region, told us about different packages of various durations, and we had so many options on the table that we took some time to decide.
The next day, we called him again with the final chosen package of 7 days and conveyed all our needs, to which Yash responded with such expertise and knowledge that we were satisfied with his consultation.
The Bali Bounce
The day we reached Bali airport, our assigned driver was patiently waiting for us with his car to take us to our villa stay. He was so friendly and welcoming that we never felt a moment of discomfort. Our stay- Ubud Heaven Penestanan- was no less than a paradise. It was as if we had come to visit our family, the staff were all so warm and attentive to our requirements.
We spent a nice relaxing day at leisure there, strolling in the gardens and taking exciting dips in the swimming pool with my wife! It was a very romantic day, which we topped off with a nice outdoor dinner. I was already loving the place.
The best thing about Ubud was its scenic beauty- it was unlike any other that I had seen before. Lush terrace-cut farming all around, with some ancient buildings and temples dotting the views- as if adorning the sight with some heavy jewellery.
The Tegenungan Waterfall was mesmerising to watch, and so were the Kintamani and coffee plantation tours. The rice terraces were something very unique, defining the region in the best way possible.
And… the Bali Swing won our hearts- we rented some amazing dresses for clicking million-dollar-worthy pictures of ourselves. Trust me when I say this, we are still debating about which ones to frame and hang over our bed.
The amount of Hindu temples in Bali is countless, some are dedicated to Shiva, some to Ganga, and some worshipped the five natural elements- water, fire, air, soil, and space. which kind of caught my attention but then I let it slide because I wanted to give my brain a bit of rest on this vacation.
Anyway, we made our way to the Tirta Gangga Temples and the Gate of Heaven Lempuyang Temple which were absolutely worth it. The decorations, the well-maintained architecture and gardens, and the unique designs that reflected the diversity of the region all made it a brilliant experience to have in Bali.
Also, my wife almost fell trying to balance herself on the circular floating rocks in these temples for a good picture. Watching this hilarious scene, I broke into laughter, to which she got visibly upset. Although she had asked me to delete the picture, I have plans to release it online on her birthday…haha! I hope she doesn’t read this review (pray for me!)
To dive or to float, that is the question
The floating temple of Ulun Danu Temple Beratan was so picturesque and serene- it was covered with a thick blanket of fog when we reached there. This cast an enchanting spell on the entire surroundings and the views of course. The mystery and the magic of the place seemed to have emerged from its slumber.
The views and aesthetics of the place are unparalleled. My wife was an art enthusiast, and she just could not get enough of this attraction. The Tanah Lot Sunset Tour was a memorable highlight. We all had a fabulous time watching the sunset over the sea.
Then came Nusa Penida into our lives…rather, we went to Nusa Penida, and I can still vouch that:
That kind of beauty is hard to find.
The white sands and the turquoise-blue water sparkled in the sunlight, and it instantly shifted our mood! We went straight to the beach to dip our feet. The feeling of the ocean waves washing your feet was very soothing.
We went to 4 beaches- Kelingking Beach, Angel Billabong, Broken Bay, and Crystal Bay, all of which offered a heavenly experience. We tried the local coastal dishes of the area like crispy duck and pomfrets with beer. Then we toured the beaches on a boat ride, and collected lots and lots of sea shells for home decoration!
That was not it, we tried our hands at snorkelling, couple parasailing, and jet skiing, which totally brought out the adventurous versions of ourselves. Hiking on the Kling Kling mountain trails to reach the Uluwatu Temple was one of the best experiences we had on the trip.
Throughout the trip, we tried many local dishes and local brews which made our trip very fulfilling. And special thanks to the driver, for all his stories, food and restaurant suggestions, and for treating us just like his family members. He was such a help in Bali, and the next time we come here we will surely call him for everything.
Last, but not least, many thanks to Yash for curating such a marvellous itinerary. His guidance aided our travel experience a lot. But what took it to the next level, was the joint effort of all the people involved in making this trip a success. The communication, coordination, and operation of the trip were top-notch, along with the services and the food included in the package.
All in all, we had a very comfortable yet very happening trip. And I can't thank Thrillophilia enough for saving my year from going trip-less!
