Sunsets, Sand & So Much More: Priyansh’s Family Trip to Dubai

My family and I were sitting in our living room in India. The kids were in their pyjamas while curled up beside me on the couch. My son had just finished reading about the wonders of the world, and he looked up with curiosity in his eyes.
“Papa,” he asked, pointing to a sparkling photo in his book, “Is the Burj Khalifa real?”
I laughed gently, “Oh yes, very real. It touches the sky.”
Beside me, my wife looked up from helping our daughter with her socks. “So? When are we going to see it?” she teased.

Something about that moment stayed with me. So, I opened my laptop that night and searched for “Dubai family vacation”. That is when I came across Thrillophilia. Their 7-day Dubai itinerary looked perfect and exciting.
And just like that, I booked the trip.
The next morning, I laid four printed boarding passes on the breakfast table.
As soon as my family saw it, my kids cheered. My wife just stared at me, stunned, until she whispered, “You actually did it.”
Golden Horizons

The moment we landed in Dubai, we felt the warm desert air and saw the unreal skyline of Dubai. Our hotel was modern and welcoming, and after a short rest, we stepped out again for our first evening.
We boarded the Lotus Mega Yacht. The lights of the city twinkled as we sailed past the Marina. The kids ran to the deck and pointed at tall buildings and fancy yachts while we held hands and soaked in the luxury.
The buffet dinner was incredible, but the real treat was the sight of the Burj Al Arab glowing in the distance and reflecting in the water.
Touching the Sky and Stories in Stone

On the second day, we went on a half-day city tour. The first stop was Jumeriah Beach, where the kids chased waves and built sandcastles. We paused outside the Atlantis Hotel to admire its grandeur before heading to the Dubai Museum inside Al Fahidi Fort. It was a cool and quiet space filled with stories of pearl divers and Bedouin life.
But the real surprise came when we reached the Burj Khalifa. As the elevator moved up to the 124th floor, our hearts raced. From the observation deck, the city stretched endlessly in every direction. Tiny cars moved below like ants, and my daughter clung to me as she was scared of the height.
Later, we watched the fountains dance under the night sky at the Dubai Mall. The kids giggled as the water leapt with music, and we stood there for a while to soak in the beauty.
Futures and Fire

The next day, we visited the Museum of the Future. There, the interactive exhibits let the kids design robots and explore space missions. I saw my son’s eyes light up at the idea of living on Mars. “Maybe I will go there someday,” he said.
We enjoyed the Desert Safari in the afternoon.
Our 4x4 zoomed across golden dunes. We held on tight while laughing and screaming with joy. At the campsite, the kids rode camels while we sipped Arabic coffee. They wore keffiyehs, posed with falcons, and tried henna on their hands.
During the evening, we watched Tanoura dances and fire shows and relished a BBQ dinner under the stars. My daughter curled into her mother’s lap.
Blossoms and Borders

We began our fourth day at Miracle Garden, where flowers bloomed in the shapes of hearts, castles, and aeroplanes. We could smell the fragrance of roses all around. The kids ran through the colourful arches while my wife and I sat beneath a floral canopy.
Later, we explored the Global Village, where every pavilion told a new story. We ate Turkish ice cream, tried Thai coconut water, bought a small Moroccan lamp, and danced along to street performers.
It was like taking a world tour in one evening. My son joked, “We have travelled more today than we ever have in our lives!”
Fun at the Waterpark

Aquaventure Waterpark was a paradise for the kids, and, to be honest, for us too. We raced down water slides, floated through lazy rivers, and faced waves in the giant splash zone.
At the Lost Chambers Aquarium, we were mesmerised to see the jellyfish and stingrays. My daughter counted fish while my wife read out their names.
Then came the moment I had kept secret: a 12-minute helicopter ride.
As we soared over Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, and the endless coastlines, our little family fell completely silent. We all loved the experience of the ride.
Grand Mosques and Ocean Marvels

On the sixth day, a private car took us to Abu Dhabi, where we were breathless to see the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Its white domes shone in the sunlight, and the chandeliers inside sparkled like galaxies. We walked through the premises with respect.
At SeaWorld, the energy changed again as laughter, splashes, and vibrant marine life filled the air. From dolphins and penguins to sea lions and manta rays, every exhibit made the kids happy.
We ended the day watching a dolphin show, where the kids clapped at the wonderful tricks. My wife leaned towards me and said, “We should travel like this more often.”
I nodded. I was already planning the next one in my head.
Until We Return

The final morning in Dubai was slow. We packed our bags and were ready to leave.
As we drove to the airport, my daughter dozed off on my shoulder. My son looked out the window and admired the Dubai skyline.
“Papa,” he finally said, “we saw the Burj Khalifa… but I think my favourite thing was enjoying all this together.”
