Exploring The Land of The Kings- Pradeep’s Trip to Rajasthan With Thrillophilia
Rajasthan is known to be a culturally rich land that offers spectacular views of the desert areas as well as lakes, hills, palaces, and forts. It is known to be the “Land of the Kings”, hence justifying its name “Rajasthan”.
Pradeep and his wife were eager to explore this enchanting land of folktales and royalty. The vibrant history of this place fails to attract none, and they too wished to experience it first-hand.
So, even at the age of 63, Pradeep and his wife very enthusiastically booked Thrillophilia’s 5 days of Rajasthan tour package. Mr. Pushpendra and Ms. Ruchita got in contact with them and curated an itinerary perfect for this elderly couple. They had optimum rest days after long journeys, and the activities chosen on this trip were comfortable as well.
Pink City Exploration
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan was a mesmerising place that they loved touring. With the huge places and forts placed all around the city, they had a marvellous time capturing the essence of modern Rajasthan. From the Patrika Gate to the Nahargarh Fort, they visited them all.
GaltaJi Temple, Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, and City Palace, all these places showcased the architectural prowess of the places that kept the enemy armies at bay. They also upheld Rajputana decorations and designs that had a touch of Mughal styles as well. Exploring the city palace specifically helped them understand the Royal lifestyle and the significance of the Royal family in the city.
They had a memorable time dressing up in Rajasthani attire in front of the Jal Mahal and clicking some amazing pictures of them together. It is true that posing with a drawn sword on the roads of Jaipur is a thrilling experience to have!
To make their journey more comfortable and hassle-free, they were given a car that could easily navigate the desert terrains of the place. Their driver, who was also their guide, was also very helpful in taking them to restaurants and viewpoints that were not included in the itinerary! Like the one from Nahargarh fort in the evening, from where one can see the entire city sparkling like a casket full of silver and gold.
Jodhpur- A treat
“The Blue City” as it is rightly called for its blue buildings, was a treat to the eyes. The Mehrangarh Fort and the stunning sunset from there won their hearts. Apart from that they also visited the treasures of Jodhpur like the Balsamand Lake and the Jaswant Thada. Umaid Bhawan Palace in the evening looked too beautiful to be true.
Their hotel in Jodhpur was located in the best place, and they could see most parts of this glistening city from their windows. During their stay here, they tried Mirchi Vada and the Makhania Lassi, after which they savoured some authentic Dal Bati Churma!
Jaisalmer’s Secrets
Jaisalmer, the Golden City, is a desert city. Everywhere you look, you can only find shades of yellow and golden sand. But the marketplaces there were very colourful and vibrant, standing in stark contrast to the land.
It was a splendid experience touring the Golden Fort, its massive structure and its magnificent looks. Alongside that, the Havelis like Patwon-ki-haveli, Nathmal-ki-haveli, and Salim Singh-ki-Haveli boasted intricate carvings and filigree work that was a sight to behold. Interestingly, families were living in these ancient heritage houses, and seeing them, Pradeep and his wife could gauge how it would feel to live there…with large courtyards and huge walls that held secrets of god knows how many years.
The desert camp experience was a topper! They saw a clear sunset on the camel safari, explored oases, stayed in camps and even witnessed the popular Kalbeliya performance there. Rajasthani folk and classical instruments, dance forms, and art forms, all are so exquisite in quality that it was always a pleasure for them to get in touch with these cultural roots.
Khamma Ghani
(‘I bow with respect)
They learnt this Rajasthani greeting from their driver, Mr. Rupram. He helped this old couple a lot on their trip; he also had fun driving them to places because they were always curious about various things like how the summers were, if there was any water scarcity, etc. He would happily answer these questions, giving them an overall picture of what Rajasthan's true essence is.
They grew a lot of reverence and heartfelt warmth for this place on this trip. They knew it was a very unique place, but they were overwhelmed after experiencing them in real life.
They appreciated the entire team of Thrillophilia before boarding for their flight home. From airport pick-ups to off-route explorations, the package included all transfers. Upon that, the hotels that were allotted were hygienic, elderly-friendly, and very cooperative, they took special care of the couple given their age. The guide, as stated previously, was very supportive, and also a constant companion for the couple. That is why he had grown so attached to them, so much so that he invited them for lunch at his house in Jodhpur on the day of return.
The management went fine, and so did the arrangements. It was an achievement for Thrillophilia as they did not receive any complaints from the couple at any point.
Therefore, it came to Thrillophilia as a surprise when the couple called them again after a week of return.
It was nothing bad, they just wanted to book another trip to Kerala with us!
