An Unscripted Tale of Prachi’s Parents in The Beautiful Andamans!
It was Prachi’s parents’ 35th anniversary, and she had planned a surprise getaway for them to the Andamans.
Both her parents were die-hard lovers of beaches, so she thought this would be the perfect destination for them to explore, as they had never visited the Andamans before. The family had travelled to Lakshadweep several times since Prachi’s childhood, but never to the Indian Ocean.
Unfortunately, due to work-related reasons, Prachi had to rearrange her schedule and cancel her tickets. She wanted to go; it had been years since she had taken a holiday with her parents. But she had to prioritise work, as it was what paid for the vacation. So, she decided to pull her name out of the plan.
She did not expect her decision to affect her parents’ plans too. She genuinely hoped they would be fine exploring the place themselves and perhaps even enjoy some alone time together. After all, thirty-five years of marriage was no small feat. Every relationship needed renewed efforts to sustain its charm and beauty.
But they were unwilling to go without her. It became almost impossible to convince them, as they kept saying only one thing, “This trip will not be complete without you.”
Her father, being in corporate himself, understood her situation and finally agreed to go ahead with the trip. Her mother was upset with him for a while, but after a long session of compassionate arguments, she eventually gave in as well. Prachi smiled later, thinking that her father could be quite a smooth talker when he wanted to be.
About a week and a half later, Prachi received a call from them. They had just returned from the holiday and were eager to share every detail of their experience.

The description…
Mother: “It was such a lovely trip, Prachi. They came to the airport to pick us up, you know! We saw so many things, and it was so, so, so beautiful. We saw the light and sound show on the first day in Port Blair. It was such an amazing sight. You should have been there! You would have loved it.”
Father: “Beta, the Cellular Jail was something else. I had goosebumps every time I came across a new section there. The guides were awesome. They knew so much about each and everything. I don’t know how they remember all the dates.”
Prachi already knew the itinerary, having booked the trip herself, but she stayed silent, listening carefully to every word.
Father: “We also visited Corbyn Cove Beach that day, but it was too crowded, there was some kind of event, I guess. So we skipped it and had an amazing lunch instead! Haha! Their fish curry was different from the ones I have had before, but it had a very unique taste.”

Mother: “Pomfret it was. You also had crabs.”
Father: “Oh yes. Anyway, the Elephant Beach was a win! Your mother and I had so much fun snorkelling there. We saw corals, so many of them, and my God, the colours were so vibrant and unique.”
Mother: “We tried jet skiing too! Everyone thought we were too old for that, but we showed them who the real boss was!”
Father: “Yes, she can get a bit over-competitive with this stuff!”

To Corals, Beaches, and Adventures!
Prachi kept nodding and smiling, listening patiently to their back-and-forth.
Mother: “Ignore him. Listen, next time we go here with you, we will try snorkelling on Neil Island. It will be better with fewer people. I also heard that the coral belt is much richer there than at Elephant Beach. Anyhow, no harm in doing it again!”
Father: “You forgot about Bharatpur Beach, dear wife! And you tell me I have a weak memory.”
Mother: “Bharatpur Beach was also very nice, but I think you are talking about Laxmanpur Beach.”

Father: “Oh yes, my bad. Laxmanpur Beach it is. You know, Prachi, the entire beach was filled with conch shells and clams. Your mother and I spent a good hour collecting them off the shore. We went too far, I think, because the guide was looking for us by the time we came back.”
Prachi laughed and asked, “How did you like Kalapathar?”
They both gasped together, “It was unreal. Unreal! It had a very intimidating ambience to it, but so beautiful.”
Mother: “Oh, and the sunsets were spectacular. We could not see all the sunrises, but we made sure to see every sunset.”

Prachi smiled and said, “Nice, it’s lovely to hear that you guys enjoyed it. So, should I give a good review to Thrillophilia? The services were alright?”
Father: “Oh yes, punctual driver, pick-ups right on time, and an awesome guide. Good communication and coordination too.”
Mother: “The locations of our hotels were also very nice. Clean and hygienic rooms. The itinerary was well-planned; we covered almost all the main areas. We even received regular calls from Thrillophilia’s team to check on us and ensure everything was fine.”
Prachi felt relieved. Her parents had a safe and memorable trip.
She hoped that next time, she could join them for a beach vacation. With a grin, she said, “Thrillophilia, be ready, we’ll be calling again!”
