Rain and Romance: Omkar’s Surprising Honeymoon Trip to Bali
It was after a long discussion with each other that Omkar and his wife decided to go to Bali for their honeymoon. They were already in touch with one of Thrillophilia’s representatives. So all they had to do was confirm the itinerary and finalise the activities they wanted to include.
On 1st March 2023, they set out for their long-awaited trip. Both of them were quite excited about how the trip would unfold. It was a short flight, after which they reached the Bali Airport and met Gusti Partana, their driver and guide for the trip.
The first day started with leisure. They spend a nice evening unwinding at Ramayana Resort, swimming in the pool and enjoying a hearty dinner. The real adventure was to start on the second day.
They were unaware of the spectacles they were about to see on this trip, and the experiences that they were about to have. None of them could have imagined that the trip would turn out to be one of the best in their lives.
Rain rain, come and bless us!
Bali’s beaches are enchanting, with crystal clear waters. They had the chance to go speedboat riding and parasailing in the great Indian Ocean. The weather was good, with warm sunshine and cool breeze creating the perfect setting for a romantic getaway.
They visited the Uluwatu temple in the late afternoon to catch a glimpse of the iconic sunset from there, but unfortunately, clouds huddled up and cast a dreamy spell over the entire place. It looked awesome, with such breathtaking scenery against the magnificent architecture of the temple, but they had to miss the sunset views.
That night, they had a candlelight dinner planned at Sadara Boutique Beach Resort. It was undoubtedly one of the best events of their trip, and the first candlelight dinner after their wedding. Both were decked up in suits and gowns, and the entire scene seemed to be straight out of a Bollywood movie!
The resort decorated their table space with flowers and candles that looked adorable. They clicked several pictures of the place and each other and were just about to start on the main course when they heard the clouds growling. Ignoring it, they dug into the starter's platter kept in front of them. By the time the desserts arrived, it had started to drizzle and they had to hurry back inside.
Bali’s weather is truly unpredictable. But they were not disappointed. Both of them loved to watch it rain, listening to soothing music and sipping on a cup of coffee. So, there was no question of getting irritated by the rain, instead, they felt that it was just making the trip better, and of course, more romantic!
Relax, Unwind, and Laugh!
Nusa Penida is a secluded and serene beach that immediately won over their hearts. It was a respite from the tourism crowds and the bustling city space of Bali. After a tour around amazing beaches like Crystal Bay and Broken Bay, each one better than the last, they went snorkelling there.
Wearing the costumes and getting the briefing from the trainers, they both dived into the cool water of the Indian Ocean. Their hearts were beating fast as none of them had tried this sport before. But, they were together in it, and that made it quite special to them. They came across a variety of corals, colourful fish, and so many marine creatures that they were at awe.
They spent a fantastic day there, although a bit hectic, but the natural landscapes of Nusa Penida were something to cherish for life.
The next morning started off with a bang! An ATV ride to the famous Bali Swing!
It was an incredibly adventurous experience, traversing through the countryside of Bali, and witnessing its fields and forests, and watching the local people on the streets. Finally, they reached the Bali swing where they rented dresses and clicked some amazing pictures in the big nests and swings.
But on the way back, Mr. Gusti suggested a river rafting experience to them. It was not included in the itinerary, but they were thrilled to execute this plan, and so they took a detour.
The river rafting experience mesmerised them to the core, crossing the drooping branches from the jungles and flowing with the fierce tides. It gave them a different kind of adrenaline rush.
Bali’s heritage and history is enigmatic. It can overwhelm any person. On their way back from the river rafting spot, Mr. Gusti told them some tales of the past, which left Omkar and his wife spellbound. This trip was growing to be quite a memorable experience for them…
The Peaks
Bali’s vistas are unparalleled, with mountains and forests, rivers and oceans, it was a diverse destination that could charm any living being. Plus, the majestic architectural wonders and historical sites of the place are truly a treat to travellers.
The couple explored the local markets, enjoyed interacting with the local people and even made a few friends! They took the Balinese population to be very warm and welcoming. They bought a lot of souvenirs to take back home and even went to tour the famous rice terraces of Tegalalang.
But the peak of the trip arrived on day 6, when they went to Mount Batur to watch the sunrise. It was an ATV ride combined with a short trek in the dark. This activity pleased the couple so much that they did not mind a cloudy sunrise. They stayed there at the top for some time, savouring delicious breakfast. The way back to the base was all the more magical, they felt as if nature was cradling them, nurturing them like one of their own.
The day was wrapped up with a relaxing massage and spa session at Payogan Villa. It was a rejuvenating experience, eliminating all the stress and tiredness.
Things That Can’t Be Missed
1. Was the food! The staff who took care of all their travel arrangements had done a great job as well. With lip-smacking food and drinks to attentive services and care, the couple had no room for complaints. The lunch and dinner that were included in the itinerary, showcased the best of Bali’s cuisine like Martabak and Mie Goreng.
2. A special shoutout to Mr. Gusti for being such a commendable guide and driver. It was because of him that they could see and experience so much of this marvellous destination!
3. Although they did not get clear weather, they got a commendable service. Their overall experience was in no way affected.
It is seldom that this happens, perhaps it was truly a special honeymoon not just for them, but for Thrillophilia as well!
