Mr and Mrs Murali’s Holiday to the Japanese Dreamland

Mr and Mrs Murali’s Holiday to the Japanese Dreamland

We wanted to go to a semi-off-beat destination for our anniversary. After months of debates and negotiations, we finally concluded.

Japan.

Searching through Google for the best travel packages, we came across the website of Thrillophilia. Seeing quite good packages at reasonable rates, we decided to send an itinerary request for one of their 8-day packages.

We received a call within minutes from Mr Tushar. He explained to us all the plans and destinations and even suggested activities that we could try as a couple. Since we were a bit old to try the normal honeymoon activities, we suggested going simple.

Mr Tushar Sent us the customized itinerary and we loved it. Next up, we were introduced to Mr. Rahul, who was to make sure of the entire operations. They created a group from their end where all the members of the group were present. It made it quite easy for us to track the updates, starting from the Visa to the flight tickets. We had them take over all the arrangements because we had another important matter to attend to.

The Silver Jubilee ceremony.

The event would be one of the most memorable days of our lives. And we had to leave for the trip right after the event.

The entire trip plan was made clear to us via a quick call. We were impressed that they handled the matter with such precision and professionalism.

We boarded the flight with a lot of exhaustion overpowered by a lot more thrill! After a long journey, most of which we spent sleeping, we reached our destination- Tokyo.

The Land of the Rising Sun
It was awe-striking to witness the technologically driven lifestyle of the place. The moment we entered the airport, we saw how different it was. Everything was automated, and there was no chaos. At the airport, we met our local guide and our driver. On the way to the hotel, we saw bullet trains running here and there over the flyovers, the traffic was sorted and everywhere we looked we just saw the dominance of technology.

We saw the very contrast of this sight when we started our tour- on the way to Kyoto. The road to this dreamland was flanked by regional localities and settlements. Even the remotest ones looked so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful that we could not wait to see more of it! The landscapes were green and we could see the great Mt. Fuji. There were a few remaining cherry blossom trees that enhanced the vistas.

We had opted for a short hike on Mt. Fuji, and it was a brilliant experience (we were young enough for this activity). My wife could not even believe that she was walking on Mt. Fuji, an iconic mountain she saw in the pictures. We had taken the Fujinomiya route as we were climbing the mountain from the southern side. The views it offered were impeccable. It was such a soothing experience that the exhaustion seemed to wear off easily.

We could see the entire Kyoto city from the viewpoint. Of course, we could not climb the entire mountain as we were not prepared to do so, but what we saw was very wholesome.

The Highs
Another experience that we would like to share is that of the Osaka sightseeing experience. It was marvelous! The tour ranged from shrines to castles to markets and more. We also had some time in hand to explore the food items of the place, like Sushi, Ramen, and Yakitori.

Osaka Castle and Hiroshima Castle were a treat to the eyes. Exploring the Shumiyoshi Taisha and especially the hundreds of Red Gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, was an unparalleled experience.

Also, visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum sparked an unexpected wave of emotions, after which we requested our guide to show us the place where the bomb was dropped. It was heart-wrenching to see that. Takeshita Street in Harajuku was a unique experience as well.

Another highlight of the tour would be visiting Matsuyama. It was a strikingly beautiful place and we had two days of stay there before we headed off to Kyoto and then to Tokyo for the last night. The localities of the place were so soul-soothing, and the view of the Matsuyama castle won our hearts!

What a sight!

Finally, the onsen bath. It was an experience worth a lifetime. We felt more relaxed and rejuvenated after the spa session.

On a concluding note
Thrillophilia did a spectacular job in arranging such a complex itinerary. We never felt any jerk, everything was handled so smoothly. Hats off to Mr. Tushar and Mr. Rahul.

Our stays were up to the mark, and so were our transfers. Our driver was cooperative and understanding, and our guides helped us understand the culture of Japan a lot better. They also made us try some authentic dishes from Japan, some of which were truly lip-smacking! And lastly, their local beer named Sapporo was the winner of drinks!

The experience was totally worth it! Me and my wife had the best possible anniversary there, we did everything that we liked and it strengthened the pillars of our relationship.

All the best! Long way to go.
