To Dreams, Romance, and Chocolates- Keerthi’s Swiss Honeymoon Thrillophilia Review

What is the point of going on a honeymoon if it does not stir up your soul? What is the purpose of choosing a beautiful destination if it does not elevate your romantic side and make you fall in love all over again?

And what could be the best destination that offers all of these together?

It's a one-word answer, guys!

SWITZERLAND!

Me and my husband set out on our dream honeymoon to this amazing place, something that we both wanted to do from our childhood. And since we wished to spend quality time together, we eliminated the hassle of the trip arrangements and research.

That has been an interesting story though. We were looking for the best honeymoon packages to Switzerland when we saw an online advertisement for Thrillophilia. After sending an enquiry we immediately received a call from them, and to our surprise, they were offering a good package for a jaw-dropping price. My first assumption was that the services wouldn't be good, but then we checked their reviews and all of them were pretty solid.

After some hours of speculation and research, we finally decided to go with Thrillophilia only. We called the salesperson named Aayush and asked him to explain the entire itinerary, which he did flawlessly. Our faith was restored, and we ended up booking the package right that day!

Since then, I crossed out each day of the calendar till our day of departure!

And when the day arrived…
I fell sick.

But that was no reason to bail out from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Packing up all necessary (and more than necessary) medicines, we set out hand in hand.

After the flight took off, I could not think of anything else but the fact that

We were flying to Switzerland! TOGETHER!

We reached Zurich, and our first response to the city was overwhelming. Everything seemed to be extra vibrant, everyone seemed to be extra nice, and I felt extra in love! It is true when they say that a happy heart can make anything alright!

And seriously, sickness vanished, and with it, all the negative thoughts in my mind.

Our driver was already waiting at the airport with a nice sleek car, who then took us to our hotel to meet the other group members and the guides. All of the staff seemed very hospitable and compassionate. I had a good feeling about this trip, so fingers crossed, we headed up to our hotel room where we were to spend our first night in the Swiss land.

The room was a honeymoon suite- the bed was decorated with rose petals and the towels were kept on the table, folded into the shape of two swans facing each other.

The arrangements, the ambiance, the romantic charm- it all got me very excited for the trip. I knew this Swiss trip was gonna be a big hit!

To the moon and back
Zurich is a stunning city, especially at night when the streetlights glow their best under the night sky. We were just returning from our dinner at the Steakhouse Old Town, one of our topmost choices of places to eat here, when the empty streets and the romantic ambience ignited something amazing within us.

We walked that day from the restaurant to the hotel, taking a good two hours. The walk was playful, musical, and filled with lots and lots of jokes and laughter. It was one of the best nights I had with my husband since we got married.

I was still not over last night when he woke me up to get ready for the Rhine Falls tour. I must admit, the Swiss land is very, very beautiful. There will not be any turning, or one road or one scenery that can disappoint you. Visiting the falls was a spectacular experience- we also went for a boat ride there that took us around the falls and its nearby landscapes.

Cut to, we were standing in front of the huge Interlaken Lake. We had a stay there as we were supposed to go to the Jungfraujoch mountain the next day for a cable car ride. I think the raw natural scenery of Switzerland was prominent during this part of the trip. The Alps were an amazing sight- very different from the ones I have seen to date.

The Jungfraujoch observatory was a brilliant experience. The museum and the sky-watching session there were unparalleled, I doubt whether I will be able to have such an experience ever again. Surrounded by sky-high peaks blanketed in snow, the observatory’s location was something else altogether- too good!

And the cable car ride…I will suggest everyone reading this review save up and do this trip at least once in a lifetime.

Geneva- another feather to the cap
The Geneva tour was quite an enriching one. We saw the famous Lake Geneva, and the Water Fountain, and also took the popular CERN tour.

The museum tours and the gardens were also marvellous. But the chocolate tour stole my heart, not his, just mine because I love chocolates. And Switzerland, especially Geneva is famous for this. So it was a must-have thing to do there- a chocolate-tasting tour!

What topped the list was the night we went for a candlelight dinner in Spinella Restaurant and Bar. We tried some amazing local dishes like Rosti, Swiss meringue and Malakoff. To make it better, we ordered some mulled wine and cheese as starters, and then concluded the meal with some handmade chocolates. We tried many varieties and kinds of chocolate dishes in the restaurant too!

Before going to bed I realised I had too many chocolates and I was not asleep, so we spent the entire night talking to each other and discussing the pictures we had taken on the trip.

While coming back home, I realised we had made some impeccable memories on the trip. Forgetting them is out of the question, I don't think I will ever let them out of my daydreams!
