Sun, Sand, and Love: Divya’s Picture-Perfect Anniversary Trip in Seychelles with Thrillophilia
Oh, to be crazy in love!
That’s exactly what Divya thought as she watched her husband climb a palm tree on the beach like a kid with a wide smile, and all she could think was, “This is love.” As much as she wanted to scold him, she couldn’t stop laughing, and just like that, she fell in love with him all over!
That moment summed up their second-anniversary trip to Seychelles: wild, carefree, and filled with the kind of love that makes you feel young again.
Her husband had promised to take her to Seychelles when they first met, way back when it was still one of those hidden gems. COVID got in the way of their honeymoon and first anniversary, but this time he finally got a chance to fulfil his promise.
He went full secret agent mode and booked the entire trip with the help of Thrillophilia without telling Divya. He only spilt the beans a week before they left, and she was torn between being mad at him for not giving her enough time to buy new clothes and absolutely loving the surprise.

Beaches and Endless Sunsets
If there’s one thing one must know about Seychelles: its beaches are what dreams are made of. Think white powdery sand, crystal-clear water that sparkles like diamonds, and sunsets so breathtaking one feels like they’ve stepped into a painting.
Divya still remembers the first time they stepped onto Anse Lazio Beach in Praslin, it was like a scene straight out of a postcard. As soon as they arrived, she kicked off her sandals and ran toward the water like a child at recess.
They spent hours swimming, soaking up the sun, and taking about a hundred pictures because, well, how could they not?

But it wasn’t all about lounging on the beach (even though Divya could’ve done that forever). They also explored the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, which is like stepping into a prehistoric jungle. As they walked through the forest, surrounded by palms and exotic plants, she couldn’t help but make Jurassic Park references.
They even spotted the famous coco de mer, those giant, oddly shaped coconuts that are basically the celebrities of the plant world.

Island Hopping
On their anniversary, they decided to do something extra special – they stayed on Round Island, a private island with just 10 infinity pool villas. The villa was beyond magical – an open shower with a view of the ocean, a bathtub that looked out into the horizon, and absolute privacy.
It was their own little bubble of bliss, with nothing but the sound of the waves and the occasional birdsong.

The next day, they hopped over to Curieuse Island, where they met the real stars of the show, the giant tortoises. These slow-moving, ancient creatures were just as curious about them as they were about the tortoises. They spent hours feeding them and petting them.
Later, they biked around La Digue, an island that feels like it’s frozen in time. No cars, just bicycles and ox carts.
It’s the kind of place where one can lose track of time, wandering between beaches, exploring cute cafes, and getting lost in the island's charm. (To be honest, as much as Divya enjoyed riding a bicycle, she was definitely not fit for it.)

They stopped at Anse Source d'Argent (more like were forced to, as Divya was tired), another out-of-this-world kind of beautiful beach, and spent the afternoon lounging on the pinkish sand, surrounded by those granite boulders.
Everywhere they looked was Instagram-worthy!

Celebrations, Food, and Little Things
Seychelles isn’t just about beaches and adventure, the food deserves a standing ovation too. Divya and her husband are vegetarians, and she was a bit worried about finding good options, but their hotel, La Domaine La Reserve in Praslin, had them covered.
From tropical fruits to fresh veggie curries and Creole dishes, everything was a burst of flavour. The chefs were so good that they even made some off-menu vegetarian delights. And the desserts, Divya may have had a slice of cake (or two) every night.
On their actual anniversary at Round Island, they had a candlelit dinner by the beach, complete with twinkling fairy lights and the soft sound of the waves in the background. It was the kind of romantic evening that makes one feel like they’re living in a rom-com.

Her husband surprised her with a toast (he usually leaves the speech-making to Divya), and she melted – though it could’ve been the humidity.
On the last day of their trip, they explored Mahe, the largest island in Seychelles. They wandered through the colourful markets, hiked to hidden waterfalls, and chased more sunsets.
Everywhere they went, the locals greeted them with warm smiles and infectious laughter. Divya even picked up some souvenirs, a straw hat and a beautiful hand-carved tortoise that now sits on her desk as a little reminder of their adventure.

Saying Goodbye (For Now)
As the trip came to an end, they found themselves reluctant to leave. Seychelles had given them everything they’d hoped for – and more. A huge thanks to Thrillophilia for organising everything so perfectly; it was inexplicably mind-blowing!
With their well-planned itinerary and attention to detail, all they had to do was relax and soak in the magic of Seychelles. Her husband even mentioned that Thrillophilia recommended Round Island for their anniversary day, and it was the best decision ever.

From the serene beaches to the wild adventures, every moment felt like a celebration of love, laughter, and life itself. Seychelles had captured their hearts, and it was holding onto them for good.
Divya couldn’t help but think, they would be back.
