Under the Arabian Skies: Animesh’s Romantic Dubai-Abu Dhabi Getaway with Thrillophilia
Sometimes, life calls for a pause, and for us, that pause meant packing our bags and heading straight to our dream destinations, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
I’d always pictured myself walking hand-in-hand with my wife through the dazzling streets of Dubai or catching a golden sunset over the Abu Dhabi skyline. This trip wasn’t just about ticking destinations off our bucket list—it was about living those moments we’d only talked about late at night.
Thanks to Thrillophilia’s seamless planning, we didn’t just visit these cities, we experienced their essence. From adrenaline-pumping adventures to quiet, romantic escapes, every moment felt tailor-made just for us.
A Dhow Cruise Date to Remember!
The Marina Dhow Cruise was definitely the most romantic moment of our trip. Picture this- a calm evening, the sun setting in shades of orange and pink, and you stepping onto a charming wooden cruise with the love of your life. The whole scene felt like a page out of a romance novel.
As the cruise glided along the water, the Dubai skyline came alive with sparkling lights. We found a cosy spot by the railing, away from the crowd and just soaked it all in. It was quiet, peaceful, and so perfect that we barely spoke- except for the occasional, “Wow, look at that!”
Not to forget, dinner on the cruise was a total delight. Sure, there were lots of fancy options, but we couldn’t resist picking Butter Chicken and Naan—because who doesn’t love some comfort food, right? “This is our style,” I joked, holding up a piece of naan. She laughed, “Fancy or not, desi food always wins!”
The night ended with us sitting close, gazing at the water, and chatting about everything and nothing. At one point, she leaned her head on my shoulder and said, “Isn’t this perfect?”
And it was! It wasn’t just the views or the food—it was the feeling of being there together, away from the world, sharing a moment we’d never forget.
Dubai Dolphnarium or Dubai Aquarium?
So, there is a huge debate whether Dubai Dolphinarium is better or the Dubai Aquarium? Personally, I wanted to visit both and see what the buzz was about—and honestly, they didn’t disappoint, each dazzling with its unique charm.
The best section in the Dubai Dolphinarium is definitely the Mirror Maze, a place as confusing as it was entertaining. “Catch me if you can!” my wife’s voice echoed, as I struggled to navigate my way to her.
I kept bumping into mirrors, muttering, “Okay, that’s not her either!” Her laughter made it both frustrating and fun, and just when I thought I was hopelessly lost, I spotted her silhouette.
“Found you!” I exclaimed, pulling her into a triumphant hug.
Apart from this, we also enjoyed an extremely fun and interactive dolphin show where we got to see these playful creatures up close, doing tricks like jumping, dancing and making noises.
Next, when we went to Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, we were amazed to see the diverse number of marine animals there. The most exciting feeling was when we were walking under the 270-degree tunnel. Seeing the vibrant marine animals swim all around us, it felt as if we were also a part of this vibrant underwater world.
“Did you see that massive shark?” I pointed excitedly.
“Yes, and I think it's looking straight at you!” she laughed.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the feeding session. Can you believe that we actually fed sharks with our own hands? It was an exhilarating experience that I am going to boast about all my life!
Dune Thrills…!
If you think the desert is just hot and empty, think again!
Our Desert Safari was the most thrilling part of the trip. We hopped into a 4x4, buckled up, and held on tight as our driver zoomed across the sand dunes. It was like a roller coaster on land (not exaggerating at all)- one minute we were flying up, and the next, we were crashing down, bouncing around like crazy. We couldn't stop laughing and screaming (in excitement, not terror!).'
After the wild dune bashing, we got to experience the traditional desert camping, where we were treated to some tasty food. Shawarma, Chicken Salona, and Madrouba- everything was so good that we almost forgot we were in the middle of a desert!
As the night rolled in, we sat under the stars, enjoying dinner while watching the belly dancers perform. The atmosphere was perfect- romantic, fun, and full of energy. We couldn't help but smile at each other, thinking, this is what memories are made of.
It was one of those moments when time seemed to stand still, and all that mattered was the present. The desert had a magic of its own, and we soaked up every second of it.
Ferrari-Powered Fun in Abu Dhabi
Imagine waking up to the sound of engines roaring and the smell of rubber burning. That’s how our day at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi started. Being a car enthusiast- it was a lifelong dream for me!
The excitement was literally in the air as we made our way to the park. The highlight? The Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster! And when I say fast, I mean you feel like you’re literally flying- zero to insane speed in just a few seconds (my heart was in my throat, and I swear I almost lost my voice from screaming).
We had to catch our breath after that wild ride, so we took a stroll around, pretending we were race car drivers on the tracks. The go-karting was hilarious. I mean, we were all over the place, but it felt like we were in our own high-speed movie scene.
After all the heart-pounding moments, we sat down, out of breath, looking at each other and saying, “This was totally worth it.” Abu Dhabi gave us our need for speed and memories that’ll last forever.
