A Story of Firsts, Love, and Memories: Abhishek’s Honeymoon Journey in Andaman with Thrillophilia
“Abhi, I still cannot believe we are here,” my wife whispered, with her eyes wide as we stepped off the plane into the warm tropical breeze of Port Blair. I smiled at her, watching her take it all in.
There was something magical about seeing her so excited - like a kid walking into a new world. I had imagined this moment for so long, and now here we were, starting our honeymoon on the beautiful Andaman Islands. The sea, the blue skies, and my wife’s excitement - everything was absolutely perfect. Even the view of the ocean set the tone for what would be a week of surprises, relaxation, and memorable experiences.
A Night of Stories and Gratitude
“Did you know this place is more than 100 years old?” I whispered to my wife as we walked through the grand hallways of the Cellular Jail.
“Imagine what these walls have seen,” she replied in a surprised voice.
After exploring the place for a while, we settled into the open-air seating for the light and sound show. The way the story of India’s freedom fighters was narrated - it was impossible not to feel moved. Even the walls seemed to come alive with tales of bravery, sacrifice, and resilience while leaving us with a sense of pride and respect.
I was extremely grateful to Thrillophilia for his wonderful experience. It was as though Andaman was giving us something deeper than just a honeymoon - a reminder of our roots and the journey of those who came before us.
“This was special, wasn’t it?” I asked.
My wife nodded, still wrapped in the gravity of what we had just witnessed.
Into the Heart of the Wild
With the wonderful experience we had at the Cellular Jail, we knew that our journey ahead would be even more special. As we drove through Jarawa tribal territory, we could feel the mystery of the forest around us, thick with greenery that seemed to breathe with life.
“This is unlike anything we have ever seen,” my wife murmured, staring out at the tall trees. I had to agree. The forest felt like another world - untouched and ancient. It was a bit different, knowing we were in a place so isolated from everything we knew.
That is when my wife's eyes lit up as we glided through a TUNNEL of mangroves.
“This looks like it has come straight out of a movie,” she said.
Moving ahead, the journey led us to the limestone caves, where we admired the magnificent natural formations. Each stalactite and stalagmite seemed to narrate its own story, shaped by nature over centuries.
I caught my wife snapping a hundred photos, trying to capture the mysterious beauty surrounding us.
“I think I am obsessed with this place!” she laughed in complete enchantment.
A Slice of Heaven
When we decided on Andaman as our honeymoon destination, my wife had been talking about the beautiful beaches. I had seen beaches before, but nothing prepared me for the real beauty I saw on the Havelock Islands.
It was the Radhanagar Beach.
The golden sands stretched endlessly against the backdrop of coconut trees. Pristine waters and an intense shade of blue colour made it feel like time had slowed down.
For hours, we lounged, talked, laughed, and just… lived together.
Where the Adventure and Hidden Treasures Welcomed Us
We then hopped to Elephant Beach, where we decided to try snorkelling, a first for both of us.
“You are not going to leave me along with the fish, right?” my wife teased, looking both nervous and thrilled.
But once she got into the water, her fears vanished.
We floated above colourful coral reefs, watching schools of fish dart by in every direction. The underwater world was vibrant and teeming with life, more beautiful than I had ever imagined.
My wife surfaced, breathless but smiling. "That was unreal!" she said, her eyes sparkling with joy. It felt like we had unlocked a whole new world together.
Museums, Farewells, and a Final Surprise
I remember it was our last day back in Port Blair, we visited the Anthropological Museum and the Samudrika Marine Museum. The museums were fascinating, filled with artefacts and exhibits that told stories of Andaman’s tribal heritage and diverse marine life.
I was particularly captivated by the detailed models of tribal homes. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the culture we were surrounded by.
As we left the museums, I glanced at my wife as she seemed a bit quieter than usual. “What’s wrong?” I asked gently, and she gave a small smile. “I just… I don’t want this to end.”
That night, I had one last surprise for her: a moonlight kayaking session. When I told her, she looked at me.
“Are you serious, Abhi? This is… perrrfect.”
Under the soft glow of the moon, we paddled through the quiet waters, surrounded by the silver reflections on the waves. The night was still, and the air was filled with the sound of our laughter and soft whispers.
My wife leaned her head against my shoulder and said softly, “Thank you for making this perfect, Abhi. Every moment, every place… it is everything I have ever dreamed of.”
